Iced Matcha Latte

Matcha and CBD is a match(a) made in heaven. Matcha is stone ground green tea leaves. Because it’s made from a higher quality tea, and you’re drinking the whole leaf, it is a better source of nutrients than your average green tea. Matcha is rich in the antioxidant polyphenol,  which has been tied to protection against heart disease and cancer, as well as better blood sugar regulation, blood pressure reduction, and anti-aging. Another polyphenol in matcha has been shown to boost metabolism, and slow the growth of cancer cells.

A cup of matcha has about the same caffeine as a cup of coffee, but it contains l-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation, therefore producing a calming alertness as opposed to the jittery feeling that can accompany your morning cup of coffee.

I add Healist’s Double Strength Calm Drops to my morning matcha latte when I start my day, as I find it leaves me feeling ready (not anxious) to tackle a full calendar and a mountain of emails.

Recipe below.

Ingredients:

1-2 tsps of matcha
Hot water
A cup of almond milk (or any preferred milk of choice)
Healist Double Strength Calm drops
Ice

Tools:

Milk frother
Mug
Glass

While your water boils, add your matcha to a mug. Before adding the water, let it cool after it comes to a boil for about one minute. Add an inch of water to the matcha, and whisk with your frother, adding your dropper full of Calm Drops when the matcha is well mixed. Fill your cup with desired ice, adding the milk, and pouring the matcha on top. Stir and enjoy.
